We had a wonderful visit with Shawn's parents. The kids really enjoyed having them here at our house. We pretty much just visited and went out to eat a few times. Ashton had a great new swing set that they worked on, and he loves it! One of the highlights, I think, is we were able to experiance playing the Wii with Don & Jenny. I have to tell and say that Ashton beat both of them in bowling and in boxing! Maybe next time Papaw! Well we are already looking forward to seeing them on our next visit. Someone is becoming a Daddys girl!

Alayna is really becoming a Daddys little girl. She is so excited to see her Daddy when he comes home from work. She crawls as fast as her little legs and arms can take her to meet him at the door. It's really cute! She has also started to say "dada" now. I have to say I am a little jealous! Oh well, in time she will be talking our ear off like another certain little person...
Today Don and Jenny will be visiting for about 4 days. We are really excited to have them over. They have never seen our new house yet and I know Ashton is ready to visit with them again. In other news, it's safe to say now that Ashton is potty trained and we are super excited for him! For a while I was getting worried about him, but the doctor said boys usually potty train between 31/2 - 4 years old. Well Ashton trained so easy the week he was 31/2! Weird huh! So he is proud of himself and is having fun wearing "big boy undies." Well I guess that's about it for now. So until next time...

It's hot here!

So it's another HOT day here today! Although it's been really nice in the morning, early afternoon time:) That is when Ashton likes to go out and play..BEFORE it hits 100 degrees! I think we are in for one hot summer. We just got a water notice saying what time of day and what days of the week we are allowed to water our yard. You know the crazy thing is in the northwest, they are getting snow! Crazy I tell ya! So our big news lately is that Ashton has mastered half of his potty training. I say half because he has mastered the #1 part of potty training, but still has accidents on the second half! He is actually going and doing everything all be himself. So we are excited for him. Alayna is now standing up in her crib. We had to lower her bed last night to keep her safe from falling out when she stands up on the side. She is getting to be such a big girl! She also has cut her second tooth. My goodness, the kids grow so fast. On another note, I have been doing my pilates workout video everyday so far this week and just doing that has made me feel so much better! I have a long way to go for weight loss...I would like to loose about 30 lbs. That is a large goal...hopefully I can get a good start! Well I guess that is all for now. Until next time...

Busy weekend...getting teeth and all!

This weekend was busy. On Saturday I was a host for a wedding shower that we hosted at my house! I can officially say that our house is broken in and I know about how many people we can fit in here;) It went very well, our house is perfect for things like that! I'm so glad and plan on hosting more in the future. While we were doing that, Ashton and Shawn had a morning playing at the childrens museum in Austin. I think Ashton really enjoyed himself there. This is what he had to say about the wedding shower "mommy, our shower is not a wedding shower! Our shower is a bath!" So I guess, technically he IS right! Alayna has had a busy weekend herself! In the beginning of the week she got her first tooth and is now working on her second. It's the two middle bottom teeth, the same first teeth that Ashton got! Then on Friday evening she began to crawl! She has been working on this for a while now, so now she has started to explore our house, although she hasn't made it past the living area:) But I know she very soon will! So I guess that's it for us this week! Hope all are doing well! Here is a little tid-bit of Alayna crawling...
